Flashes of Hope is a national non-profit organization that works with commercial photographers to provide free portraits to children battling cancer and other life threatening illnesses. They are requesting assistance from ASMP-Tennessee photographers for their upcoming photo shoot in Nashville. Photographers will need to provide studio lighting and a background of choice.
WHEN: Tuesday, November 15, 2011, 9am-1pm
WHERE: Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital
Many photographers report that working with Flashes of Hope is an inspiring and profound experience. If you’re looking for a way to give back to the greater good through your photography this holiday season, this is an excellent opportunity.

ASMP-Tennessee will be presenting an all-day video workshop on Saturday, October 1, 2011. The tentative schedule looks like this:
Morning Sessions:
- Overview of DSLR cameras, tripods, lighting
- Overview Audio equipment: recording devices and microphones
- Demo sessions featuring photojournalistic news coverage and basic music video production setup
Lunch - included in workshop price
Afternoon Sessions:
- Basic interview setup with multichannel audio
- Wrap-up
