On September 18, The ASMP TN Chapter hosted a tax seminar with speaker Ray Todd from the Tennessee Department of Revenue, Sales and Use Tax Division. Several dozen photographers from within Nashville representing such genres as wedding, aerial, music, editorial and commercial photography had the opportunity to ask specific questions to their own tax scenarios and in turn helping others with similar business needs.

Chapter board members are working closely with John Carnes of Dury’s and Ray Todd to publish a Q&A white paper on common sales and use tax questions to be available as a downloadable PDF on the ASMP TN chapter website free to all photographers state wide. Date of release to be announced.

The tax office provided information packets to all attendees with extensive TN sales and  use tax provisions to serve as a reference of TN state laws. These packets are still available in small quantities. Please contact the ASMP TN chapter via email to request a packet.
