We’re planning some exciting events for this summer, including an all-day video workshop in two parts, another studio tour and a seminar on copyright and pricing. And Monday, May 16, we’re hosting Atlanta photographer Parish Kohanim at Dury’s. Stay tuned to the website and the blog for news and details about these and other events. Friday, April 15th, 2011April’s meeting will be held at WestLight Studios, the new headquarters of Nashville photographer David Bean. You’ve no doubt seen David’s images all over town, from product packaging and health care ads to celebrity and musician portraits. Now’s your chance to learn how he creates his dynamic and energetic photos and find out how he keeps his imagery so fresh. This meeting is open to members and non-members alike.

April Event: Flashes of Hope Returns to Nashville
Friday, April 1st, 2011It’s finally spring and ASMP Tennessee is looking forward to one of its favorite events: Flashes of Hope is returning to Nashville on April 13th and again on May 18th. If you’re not familiar with these folks, they are a national non-profit organization that works with commercial photographers to provide free portraits to children battling cancer and other life threatening illnesses. They are partners with ASMP in this endeavor and prefer to work with ASMP photographers in the cities in which they operate. Because of this partnership, ASMP members are exempt from the Flashes of Hope portfolio review process.
If you’re interested in participating, please contact Adair Freeman at adair@adairfreeman.com. Adair is our ASMP TN Chapter Liaison for all current and future Flashes of Hope shoot dates and she will assist in gathering the copyright agreement and scheduling.
Photographers will need to provide their own studio lighting and a background of choice.
